Beginner
A gentle introduction to hand carving over a single afternoon, or two to three days if you would like to go further. Perfect for visitors who want to try the craft for themselves.
You will learn: the endless knot, and simple flowers and leaves.
Intermediate
A week of focused practice for those ready to take on more detailed work and their first traditional designs.
You will learn: pillar carvings, more complex flowers and leaves, and simple Newari designs.
Expert
A true apprenticeship for those who want to master the craft, working closely with our most experienced artisans.
You will learn: statue making of gods and goddesses, complex Newari designs, the types of wood, and more.
