Preserving a living tradition

Nyatapola Crafts is a Nepalese workshop dedicated to preserving the country's rich cultural heritage through finely handcrafted woodcarving.

Our pieces are made by skilled artisans, reflecting the deep rooted traditions and beliefs that have shaped Nepal's artistic legacy. Every frame, window, and door is shaped by hand, the same Newari craft found throughout Bhaktapur's temples and the Nyatapola Temple itself, scaled into objects you can live with.

What began in 1992 has grown into a women led workshop of more than thirteen skilled artisans, each carrying forward techniques passed down through generations.

What we make, and why

We offer a wide range of traditional and contemporary woodcarvings, from carved windows and photo frames to mirror frames, doors, clocks, and sculptures. We focus on total customer satisfaction: attractive pieces crafted to a high standard, with delivery tailored to what each customer needs.

Just as importantly, we work to preserve traditional skills, art, and culture, while encouraging their place in contemporary life. We also provide training and employment for marginalised people, and especially for women.
